The 41st Theatre Season of the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) will open on July 18 with their modern day adaptation of Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, Noli at Fili Dekada 2000 (Dos Mil). Written by Nic Tiongson and directed by Soxie Topacio, this comtemporary twist makes use of the same characters but putting them in the midst of present day society with all its trappings. The show will feature a combination of seasoned stage artists as well as PETA's pool of talented actors and guests artists such as Lex Marcos, Bodjie Pascua (Kuya Bodjie of the Batibot fame), Bembol Roco (who doesn't know him right?), Robert Seña, Raffy Tejada, Ernie Cloma, Randy Villarama, Gilbert Onida, Upeng Galang-Fernandez, Marichu Belarmino, Jess Evardone, Julia Enriquez, Shé Maala (a goood friend and an excellent performer), Ian Segarra, Norbs Portales, Jack Yabut, Neomi Tabanao-Gonzales, Eric dela Cruz (a fellow PT and college friend) and Joseph Grantusa.
The show opens July 18, 2008 at the PETA-Phinma Theatre and runs until August 24, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday with performances at 10am and 3pm. Tickets are only P300.00! P250 for blockbuyers (minimum of 50 tickets) If you're a theatre afficionado however, you might want to avail of their season pass for only P1,000.00 which will give you one entry pass to all six theatre productions at the PETA Theatre Center this season with option for reserved seating. Plus you also get a 10% discount for a maximum of two (2) companions per show.
